A Message from Lee
I must begin with an apology/explanation for how long its taken to get this issue out. My self imposed deadline of getting this done by summer ('98) got seriously delayed by several long journeys out & about; freight hopping in Europe, a big rail trip cross Canada & of course, the annual pilgrimage out to Iowa for the hobo convention (in its 98th year). Cops busting the hobos from hell squatter office last winter didn't help- the whirlwind from that still hasn't settled completly, rough edges here & there. Done by summer got pushed to October got pushed to Thnxgiving got pushed to...is it really the day before x-mas? My mantra:..."almost done...almost done..." Caffeine consumption is up as is anti-social behavior, no sleep. You got the picture.
As any zinester will tell you, zine work is play/work. I hate writing & avoid it when possible but I love, love, love getting & laying out these fun stories- putting them out to the world; tales & images of travel, companionship, reflection, adventure. They speak for themselves.
Here's to you, story readers & story tellers alike, hoods & hats off to you. Enjoy!
See ya, Lee
