A Message from DJ Matter Embryo
...my life in Santa Cruz for 14 years and general artistic development would be hard to imagine without Free Radio Santa Cruz and FRSC is hard to imagine without the work and vibes of Uncle Dennis...calm, rational, very intelligent, ever-helpful and really the main person knowledgeable about the technology we were all using to do radio...a fine and polished DJ properly focusing on the 60s/70s, a golden age for music (and film); listening to one of his shows right now (w/ focus on environmental issues)...in 1995, lacking $ and the know-how, FRSC made possible the work we were doing for over a decade (Clatterbox, The Technical Difficulties Radio Show)...our style was/is based more on density and maximalism rather than a minimal or quiet approach and music made now outside of the radio studio is influenced by its possibilities...so thank you Uncle Dennis (and others) for actually making this free speech/art/radio possible: in my daily role as performing musician, I will continue to play music of the 60s and 70s, the good stuff all the way from the cream to the dregs.

Technical Difficulties: a live radio show on Free Radio Santa Cruz from 1998-2006, from insurrectionary to irreverent...a blend of musics, writings, rants, guests, soundscrape-action + eclectic expositions.
